A man suspected of being one of the authors of a rodeo inside a shopping center in the Nantes metropolitan area and whose video had been widely relayed and commented on, was arrested and imprisoned, announced the prosecution. Sunday.

The alleged perpetrator, a 20-year-old man, already known to the police,

"admitted the facts during his police custody"

Thursday, said Renaud Gaudeul, public prosecutor in Nantes, in a press release.

“He was placed in pre-trial detention pending his judgment according to the procedure of immediate appearance”

which will be held on Tuesday, specified the magistrate.

Other participants sought

On April 21, the authors of this rodeo filmed themselves in a shopping center in Orvault (Loire-Atlantique) and posted the video on the social network TikTok then broadcast by BFMTV.

In particular, we see three two-wheelers using an escalator in the Leclerc Grand Val shopping center.

They then circulate in the shopping mall, skimming the shop windows in the middle of customers, before quickly leaving the premises by another exit.

This rodeo caused

"a legitimate stir among traders and users",

underlined Mr. Gaudeul, specifying that

"investigations are continuing"

to find the other participants.

During the month of April, two people were injured in Nantes

"by riders of two wheels taking part in urban rodeos"

and 142 operations against rodeos have taken place since the beginning of the year (399 operations in 2022), detailed the magistrate.
