The former governor of Salta intends to increase the chances of federal Peronism with a third candidate. The Cordovan seeks to join forces from all sectors to beat Kirchnerism.

The so-called federal Peronism, or "anti-rift," has defined competing in the national elections with at least two candidates in the PASO, the recently launched Juan Schiaretti and Juan Manuel Urtubey. But there are differences in the assembly of the national strategy between the governor of Córdoba and whoever was for 12 years the provincial chief of Salta.

While Schiaretti has been installing the idea of an opposition "front of fronts" that includes a part of Peronism and also sectors such as Together for Change, Urtubey promotes a PASO that includes PJ candidates from the provinces and that, in addition to Schiaretti and himself, adds Alberto Rodríguez Saá, the governor of San Luis.

The former governor of Salta, who was Roberto Lavagna's candidate for vice president in 2019, raises the need to build a third pre-candidate in that PASO, another important name to reach August with chances of being the third most voted space or competing, at least, on an equal footing with Javier Milei's La Libertad Avanza.

From the environment of Salta speak of a real possibility of achieving a floor of 10% of votes with three candidates within a PASO, which can grow as the primaries approach and that can lead to a scenario similar to that of 2003, where in the generals the votes were distributed five different candidates, with a very small difference of votes among all: Carlos Menem reached 26%, Néstor Kirchner 22%, Ricardo López Murphy above 16% and Adolfo Rodríguez Saá and Elisa Carrió exceeding 13%.

When the time comes for the PASO, in the federal Peronism they believe that Milei can be diluted and that they can grow at the expense of the libertarian and also of part of the disenchanted vote of Kirchnerism. "It is a scenario of extreme optimism," say those who argue that the dispute for the third way with the economist in this election is not such and that any space that aims to weaken him seems to run without chances.

While Schiaretti has been working hard on the launch of his campaign, which arms the former head of the ANSeS Diego Bossio, Urtubey is not far behind and redoubles efforts to be competitive in that potential PASO that shows them as the two pre-candidates.

"El Gringo tells me that we have to move forward with all those who are against the rift. I sign that, we agree. From then on, I would not be part of an opposition front, that is, of a front in which you gather all the opposition against the ruling party, in the same way that I would not be part of an official front, because it follows the same logic of the crack, "he told TN over the weekend.

The Cordovan president had installed that idea during a visit to the facilities of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), where he met with the head of the entity, Daniel Funes de Rioja, and with members of the Executive Committee of the business center.

In Schiarettismo they do not rule out the possibility of expanding as the elections approach. There are those who see similarities in essence with the sector of Together for Change that bets to lead Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and that also has the national support of radical leaders such as Gerardo Morales and Martín Lousteau.

"Argentina can only get out of these long years of decadence, and leave behind the damn crack, if the forces that want production and work and a normal country, we are able to establish a common program," Schiaretti said last week.

In the armed that has Schiaretti and Urtubey as main references has also been working the former Minister of Transport and Interior Florencio Randazzo, whom many profile as a possible candidate for governor in the province of Buenos Aires. It is the one that generates the highest approval internally, although Urtubey has also proposed Graciela Camaño, national deputy of federal Peronism.
