"It is imperative to continue the process of revocation of citizenship and removal of families": The family of Shimon Maatuf, one of the victims of the attack on Independence Day night in Elad last year, reacted Tuesday night to the conviction of the terrorists.

The family said: "We are pleased that little justice has been done and that the accursed terrorists who destroyed homes and destroyed entire families will pay the price and will never get out of prison until their last day of death. No luxuries, no studies, no special fresh foods, no unnecessary showers and fewer family visits. No unnecessary pleasure. Let them never barter or any other transaction."

Ma'atuf, 75, was critically wounded by the axe. After several months of hospitalization, he succumbed to his wounds. The family added: "We are still in mourning for our dear father who is missing us in every corner of the house and in every situation there is no comfort and no forgiveness. What we suffered with Dad and now without him no one will compensate us for it. This punishment is no consolation and even minimal. In order to restore security on the streets, we need to be stricter and the death penalty must be established in law."
Yesterday, the Central District Court convicted terrorists As'ad al-Rifa'i (20) and Subhi Abu Shakir (21). The two confessed and were convicted of four counts of aggravated murder and other offenses.
The two were sentenced to four life sentences and a cumulative sentence of 20 years in prison for the other offenses, as part of the agreements reached by the State Prosecutor's Office and representatives of the two. Four people were murdered in the attack.
