Scott Haraguchi will probably never forget last Friday, when he set out in his kayak to fish about a mile off the coast of Oahu Island in Hawaii, USA.
"Suddenly, I heard noises in the water that sounded like a boat moving in my direction, not an engine," he told the TV ass. "I looked up and saw this big brown thing and my brain thought it was a turtle, but then it crashed into me and I realized it was a tiger shark." The video shows the shark apparently deliberately resisting in its boat and almost attacking Haraguchi himself.
He said he happened to have a GoPro camera on him that he forgot to turn off that captured what might have been his final moments. The shark held onto the boat and did not let go for a few seconds, but at the end of Haraguchi he finally managed to push the shark away and continue fishing, but not before expressing astonishment and shouting a juicy curse.
Only later did he notice that there was an injured seal nearby, so he believes the shark made a "mistake in identification" and actually thought it was attacking the aquatic mammal. Either way, a day later on Saturday, authorities were forced to close the beach after a shark was spotted, though it's unclear if it's the same one.
