Even at the coronation, it was more about Kate and William than about King Charles and Camilla. The Prince and Princess of Wales are everywhere. Does the prince already want to take over?
London – The coronation of King Charles III (74) was a complete success. It's only fair for him and Queen Camilla (75) to get some rest after all the hustle and bustle. In the meantime, the heir to the throne Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (41) along with their three royal secret weapons Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4) are available to the world public. On the third day of the coronation, the young royals showed how to swing the shovel at a scout house in Slough at The Big Help Out, a relief campaign for communities in need.

A film of the palace summarized the coronation weekend shortly afterwards. Above all, the Princess of Wales is the epitome of perfection at every turn - impeccably dressed, stunningly beautiful, stylish - even as a mother the pure force. We see her greeting the crowd on the mall in a chic white dress, coming to the coronation concert with the children, in an asymmetrical red jacket and beach hairstyle, and shining in her official robe on the big day herself. The next day, she effortlessly inspires as a loving mom around the campfire.
Prince William, meanwhile, is the epitome of royal duty. He strides statesmanlike onto the stage at the concert at Windsor Castle, swears allegiance to his father, puts his protective arm around his wife's slender waist, gives speeches and assists his children in driving the excavator. From head to toe, the future king, perfect staging at every turn. For British journalist Sarah Vine, this is almost going too far. She commented on Dailymail: "I'd (almost) rather watch one of [Prince] Harry's worthy documentaries."

Of course, Charles is an old king who comes to the throne in the last years of his life, she writes. Nevertheless, she thinks that the monarch could be given his time: "Nevertheless, this was the moment for him [King Charles] and Queen Camilla, not for them [Prince William and his wife]," she says. It bothers the expert that three days of a coronation according to age-old traditions are suddenly produced in a film by a man who prides himself on having "a portfolio of world-leading clients" and creating "story-led branded content".
"Superficial, one-dimensional, like one of those commercials," is her devastating verdict on his work. The princess's next public appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest also finds no mercy in front of her eyes: Kate, who plays on a grand piano with last year's Ukrainian Eurovision winners in a bright blue off-the-shoulder dress (by Jenny Packham for the equivalent of 4,100 euros). Whether Charles III is a fan of his "24/7 megastar princess" daughter-in-law is just as unknown as the answer to the question of whether he already knows his son Prince William's plans for his own coronation.
