The discussion that caused the MK to burst into tears: "This is the pain caused when the evil criminal roams free," MK Erez Malul of Shas said in tears at a joint discussion on the repeal of the statute of limitations on sexual offenses by the Constitution Committee and the Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women.
Malul revealed that his relative is dealing with sexual assault. "The immense pain of the victim and the family does not end for the rest of his life, when the evil criminal roams free. I'm glad they're raising the issue and aren't ashamed of it. We must help as much as possible as far as the legislature is concerned."

MK Pnina Tamano Shteh (State Camp), chairwoman of the Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women, said during the discussion: "The cooperation on this issue between the coalition and the opposition is a symbol that we are able to transcend the differences to advance things that are for heaven's sake."
The discussion dealt with the preparation for the first reading of the bills intended to establish that sexual offenses committed against a person who is a minor and certain sexual offenses committed under aggravated circumstances do not have a statute of limitations. At the opening hearing, victims and even current and former Knesset members shared their personal stories.
