At this time, the Supreme Court is holding a hearing on an appeal filed by Aviad Moshe, who was convicted of the attempted murder of his wife (then, and his current ex-wife) Shira Isakov, and sentenced to 23 years in prison, in one of the most publicized cases in Israel in recent years.

Moshe appealed his sentence to the court, claiming that he had new evidence attesting to his psychological state at the time of the incident and that he had not been examined by a psychiatrist during the legal process.

At the beginning of the discussion, Shira Isakov said: "The situation is a bit difficult. They talk about me and my child, on the face of it it seems that we have returned to life and are working, and a lot of painful words that pierce the soul, this is a mother with PTSD who is raising a child with PTSD who has returned to talking after a year with stuttering and the child is in emotional therapy.

"A year ago, while playing, he talks about the blood that was on the floor and his father who took and beat and says that he was scared and his mother disappeared from his life, and today he is 4.5 years old, and he speaks well and asks his mother and says, it was something black and he tries to understand, and he has a father and he calls him Dad Aviad, and he suffers so much and he doesn't understand how his father did such a thing and why he doesn't pick him up from kindergarten."

Isakov also said of the consequences of the incident on her life: "The crazy expenses I spend on this, all the suffering. And when the lawyer says to my heart, it's hard and it's terrible!, the least you can do is leave the punishment as it is because you can't keep it in prison for the rest of your life."

The incident that shook an entire country took place on New Year's Eve in 2020, at the couple's home in Mitzpe Ramon, when Moshe brutally attacked Isakov with a rolling pin and knife, with their young son witnessing the incident. Isakov survived thanks to the intervention of her neighbor, Adi Gozi, and her father, who entered her home and gave her first aid.

At the time of his conviction, in August 2021, Judge Yael Raz-Levy said: "Most of the defendant's testimony dealt with portraying the complainant in a very negative light. He also refrained from telling what happened, did not elaborate or explain. We are left with a black hole. He's not interested in answering the questions, both in the police and here. He explains that he is the victim and that his violent singing - various statements that left a negative impression on me."
