Images posted on social networks show a plume of gray smoke rising above the zinc roofs of the Montparnasse district in the fourteenth arrondissement of Paris. These videos were taken this Thursday morning, after a fire broke out in a Hippopotamus restaurant, according to information from BFMTV confirmed to Le Parisien by the Paris Fire Department.
No injuries are to be deplored, but the disaster required to mobilize about fifty firefighters, still on site this Thursday early afternoon. "I saw firefighters evacuating customers and staff. They also closed the newsagent next door. The firefighters are still there, "confirms an employee of the restaurant Chez Bebert, located jute opposite.
The balance sheet of the material damage caused by the incident is not yet established, nor the causes of the disaster. The fire would have broken out at the end of the morning in the kitchen of the restaurant, but the causes remain unknown for the moment.

This Hippopotamus restaurant is located near Le Bretagne cinemas and Gaumont Pathé Parnasse. The fire caused large clouds of smoke in the sky. Nevertheless, the fire did not disrupt traffic because it did not require blocking the road, say firefighters.
