The unusual milk shortage has several reasons. Since Shavuot, the large dairies have not been able to keep up with the demand from consumers, against the background of the Golan Dairies brand, which served as the Shufersal chain's private label and was recently decided to stop production. Golan Dairies accounted for about 2.5% of the total dairy market. Expensive and significant percentages that at once fell off the shelves.
It should be noted that until now Tnuva has supplied dairy products regularly, but recently it has shut down a machine for maintenance and cleaning, and as a result, the shortage is expected to increase. The treated machine returned to the factory, but Tnuva has not yet bridged the production gap. In addition, it was claimed that Strauss has also recently seen a slight decline in production in recent weeks.

Strauss said, "Yotvata Dairy has significantly increased milk production over the past year and continues this trend. As evidence, milk production increased by 9% compared to last year." One food chain told Israel Hayom that there is a shortage of 20-30 percent milk.
Tnuva's response: "Tnuva produces more milk in cartons than last year in the corresponding period, while providing a response to higher-than-usual demand resulting from the decline of other companies in the industry."
