Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai commented on his future in the position, saying: "During my term as Police Commissioner, for two and a half years, I served under three governments and three ministers, under the conditions at my disposal as Police Commissioner,
I tried to do my best and maintain professionalism and statehood. It's no secret that I don't intend to continue for a fourth year under these conditions."
Shabtai's comments come against the backdrop of Israel Hayom's exposure of Ben-Gvir's decision, which refuses to extend the term of Shabtai's police commissioner.

Regarding the volatile security situation from the Golan Heights to the Palestinian villages in Judea and Samaria, Shabtai said: "The State of Israel is experiencing many upheavals at home and abroad, which have a direct impact on the level of personal security of each and every one of its citizens. Our police officers wake up every morning with one clear goal in mind – to ensure the personal safety of all citizens of the country."
