Billionaire Arnon Milchan, the key witness in Case 1000 and 2000 in which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of fraud and breach of trust, took the witness stand for the fifth time Thursday from Brighton, England, to continue his testimony. Milchan was cross-examined by Netanyahu's lawyer, Amit Haddad. The Prime Minister's wife, Sarah Netanyahu, also arrived in the courtroom, to whom the justices remarked that she was forbidden to speak with Milchan until the end of his testimony.

Step by step

Haddad asks him about his visa when he went to the embassy in 2013.

Sharpen: "Hadas, who was waiting for you in the car, said that as soon as you left the embassy, the first thing you did was contact Ambassador Dan Shapiro. She testified: 'Urgent to Dan Shapiro, the ambassador.'"

Milchan: "Hadas is telling the truth."

Miltzen confirmed that his first call to Dan Shapiro, whom he had known before, had no connection to Netanyahu.

Haddad: So you go out, call Shapiro, regardless of Netanyahu, and only then do you call the whole world and his sister. You didn't just call Netanyahu and his people, but everyone you could. The world isn't just made up of Netanyahu and his office, right?"

Milchan: "Approve".

Sharpen: "There were politicians from across the political spectrum and security personnel you called."

Milchan: "Approve".

Haddad: "You said that Netanyahu is one of many that you called and all the conversations are because you feel that there is a security issue here that is currently pending."

Milchan: "Approve".

Sharpen: "When you are in crisis with Netanyahu, you talk to them as someone who is responsible for the security agencies and for U.S.-Israel relations."

Milchan: "That's right."

Sharpen: "Because he's the prime minister and there's no one else suitable."

Milchan: "Approve".

Sharpen: "Shapiro to let you know, you went to South Africa, and when you came back you called him and he informed you that the matter was under investigation. And you understand that the examination is likely to take some time, and in the meantime you will be able to behave normally."

Milchan: "Approve".
