Excessive rainfall
The Israel Meteorological Service, which monitors weather phenomena in Israel, published a special analysis of last June, noting that "June was an exceptional month with three exceptional weather events that included widespread rain nationwide, thunderstorms, high temperatures, strong wind gusts and dust storms. Each event in itself was unusual for this month and the sequence of events was very unusual, and to this we must add a similar event that took place at the end of May."
According to the service, "The monthly rainfall amounts were not large and reached several millimeters, but they fell almost throughout the country, including the southern Negev and the Arava. This is an unprecedented phenomenon in terms of national distribution."

The service also notes that "during the month there were three combat incidents. The most significant was at the beginning of the month (June 1 to 2). In most parts of the country, with the exception of the mountains, more than 2 degrees Celsius were measured on the 40nd of the month, and values of 43 to 45 degrees Celsius were measured. In some areas, the measured values ranked second or third for June, and in some stations records were even broken. There were incidents of heavy (but less extreme) heat on the 9th and 17th of the month."
