"I kissed them out of enthusiasm for their beauty," said a 54-year-old Bat Yam resident who was indicted for forcible indecent acts after he attacked a 12-year-old girl and a woman on the street and forcibly kissed them. The State Prosecutor's Office wants to detain him until the end of the proceedings.
According to the indictment, last day two girls, aged 13 and 12, were walking together in Bat Yam. At one point, the defendant addressed the girls with various statements, complimented them and asked them to smile, and then touched the hand of one of them and told her, "Children should hug adults," and the latter managed to distance herself from him. Then, as her friend stood with her back to the defendant, he hugged her tightly from behind and told her, "Bring a kiss." Despite her resistance, he grabbed her and clung to her with his body, sticking his head through her shoulder and trying to kiss her on the mouth, he stopped doing so only when passersby arrived and helped her and he fled the scene.

Shortly thereafter, the defendant followed a woman walking with her 15-year-old daughter to her apartment building, where he grabbed her by force, pinned her to the stairwell railing, knocked her to the ground, kissed her on the mouth against her will, and tried to tear her shirt. At this point, the complainant's daughter called for her father's help and when he arrived, the accused left the building.
A few hours later, he was arrested, confessed to committing the acts, confirmed that he kissed the two "out of enthusiasm" for their beauty, confirmed that he knew they were girls and that he had done so despite their objections. He also confirmed that he kissed the complainant in the stairwell of her house, but that she fell herself when she tried to evade him, and he tried to help her get up. The woman said in her testimony that the defendant followed her, and when she confronted him and asked him to leave her apartment building, he attacked her and knocked her to the ground, tried to tear her shirt off and kissed her on the mouth forcefully despite her resistance.

The motion for remand states that the defendant forcibly committed indecent acts against foreign complainants he saw on the street, without any prior acquaintance with them, one of whom was a girl of only 12 years, and went on to assault another complainant. "The defendant ceased his actions only after external intervention, and after others arrived at the scene in order to help the victims of the crime and distance the respondent from them. In light of all the above, the respondent's actions show the high danger he poses," the application states.
