Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited today (Tuesday) together with Defense Minister Yoav Galant at the Salem crossing near the entrance to the city of Jenin.
The Prime Minister received an update on the current situation on the ground from the commander of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs, and the commander of the Menashe Brigade, Col. Arik Moyal. The commanders reviewed the efforts of the forces on the ground, presented the achievements of the operation so far and the preparations of the forces for the continuation of the activity.

Prime Minister Netanyahu provided a statement to the media at the end of the visit, in which, in addition to referring to the operation taking place in the Jenin refugee camp, he also referred to the attack in Tel Aviv. "Today there was a criminal attack in Tel Aviv that was stopped because of the intervention of an armed civilian. Without this intervention, this attack might have cost many lives. I wish recovery to the wounded.
Anyone who thinks that such an attack will deter us from continuing our struggle against terrorism is mistaken. He simply does not know the spirit of the State of Israel, does not know our government, our citizens and our fighters.

I congratulate our brave fighters who destroyed many terrorist infrastructures in Jenin and thereby prevented many attacks. At these moments, we are completing the mission, and I can say that our extensive operation in Jenin is not a one-time operation.
We will continue as much as necessary to put an end to terrorism, we will not allow Jenin to return to being a city of refuge for terror and we will cut off terrorism wherever we see it and strike it."
