It is known that American cuisine is characterized, among other things, by large and high-fat portions, but an article recently published in the British Daily Mail indicates that there are signs of a change in food consumption habits among Hollywood personalities, and the reason for this is the use of Ozempic, a drug considered a miracle solution for weight loss, which has recently become a household name among Hollywood stars. A recent report suggests that it not only affects the famous actors, but also the size of the dishes offered by popular restaurants in the city of Hollywood.
According to the report, restaurants in the city have recently begun reducing the size of some of the dishes they offer to their customers because the drug, which was initially made for diabetics, reduces the appetite of those who take it. An actors' agent, who represents some of the most prominent names in the industry, was interviewed under a pseudonym to the British newspaper and said, "All the restaurants in Beverly Hills are currently offering smaller portions because everyone uses Ozempic. That's why they can't finish big steaks or even big bowls of pasta anymore."
The same agent added: "It's not something that many players admit, but in fact everyone is taking this drug, so restaurants in the city are adapting to the new situation and offering half-courses or smaller portions than before." According to him, the feeling of satiety provided by the drug causes diners to switch to eating luxury dishes such as oysters or caviar: "People can't eat much, so they want a special dish that will give them a luxurious experience."

David Turneck, who runs Meat Market restaurant group in the United States, said he has noticed a shift in Americans' food consumption. "Now that there are many diners experiencing appetite suppression because of Ozempic, there has been a shift in our ordering trend – for example, there has been an increase in the popularity of our small filet mignon. We had to double our inventories to meet the demand for this dish."
Ozempic is a brand name of the diabetes drug Semaglutide. The drug, taken as an injection once a week, has reportedly helped stars like actress Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") and Kim Kardashian lose weight quickly. Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter and CEO of SpaceX, also admitted to taking the drug — which he says helped him lose 30 pounds.
