About two weeks ago, Eshed gave a retirement speech in uniform in which he attacked the minister of national security, saying, among other things: "I was removed from my position on political grounds in a phone call." After that statement, demonstrations broke out in various locations in Israel.

Tomorrow morning, as stated, a ceremony for the change of command of the Tel Aviv district commanders is supposed to take place between Eshed and his replacement, Lt. Gen. Peretz Amar.

Those close to Ben-Gvir say that he intends to give a state speech, "but will give another speech in case Cascade deviates from protocol and takes advantage of the occasion to attack the minister again."
