Tuvia Smotrich, brother of the finance minister and chairman of the Religious Zionist party, sharply criticized National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit Party Chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir on Saturday night after the latter tweeted on his private Twitter page, "The salad bar is open."

"I have already said and will say it again: I will not vote again for any list that Itamar Ben-Gvir will be part of," Smotrich wrote on Twitter. Who I am and I and I override all national responsibility does not deserve to be cast in elections!"

The minister's tweet refers to an interview last week with Kikar Shabbat, in which he said that "eliminating the cause of reasonableness is the salads that open the appetite" with the intention of saying, apparently, that eliminating the cause of reasonableness is only the beginning of legal legislation. This evening, the Minister of National Security posted a tweet from Perries: "Good week, the salad bar is open."

I have already said and will say it again:
I will not vote again for any list that Itamar Ben-Gvir will be part of.
Who I am and I and I override all national responsibility for is not worthy of my vote in the elections! https://t.co/rYdbGVa0ZH

Likud MK Eli Dellal subtly criticized Ben-Gvir's tweet, writing: "The people of Israel are divided. We are in complex times when there are masses of concerned citizens. We are all brothers and I love those protesting against reform very much. Public servants need to reassure."

The people of Israel are divided in complex
times, in which there are masses of concerned citizens.
We are all brothers and I love all citizens of Israel and those protesting against the reform with great love.
Public servants need to reassure.

Matan Kahane of the State Camp also responded to Minister Ben-Gvir's tweet, saying: "What opacity. What a disconnect. Half the nation is mourning, the people's army is falling apart, but there are those who are pushing them to stick a finger in their eye. An evil government led by extremists into the abyss. Only together will we win."

What opacity.
What a disconnect.
Half the nation is mourning, the people's army is falling apart,
but there are those who are pushing them to stick a finger in their eye.
An evil government led by extremists into the abyss.
Only together will we win. https://t.co/tGnmqTiqX8

Dan Illouz, of the Likud, also commented on the minister's tweet, saying: "We will pass the reform. With pride and joy. I have been working on this issue for more than a decade. But a large part of our people is hurting right now. This is a significant part of the nation, a Zionist with all its heart and who continues to serve in the reserves. He's just worried and afraid. We need to hug him, not put a finger in his eye. A little sensitivity won't hurt."
