"Just after rehearsals with the band, I put on my uniform and went to the reserves," Amadi wrote. "In the heat of the day, in the car, I suddenly realized how strange and unusual this experience was. Trying to imagine successful singers abroad finishing a show, traveling to some remote base, getting on equipment, making sure to shove something in their back to snack on when hunger or boredom strikes."

The successful singer also addressed the discourse in recent days and hinted at the protests. "Back in real life I met good people at night, some thinking like me, some different, one thing they all have in common, they all have a heartache. So maybe it's some hint of longing, of the desire to get closer again, to hug, even if for a few moments. Every day a little bit, until the sun rises again."
