The "Avenging Cops" affair, also known as the "Criminals in Uniform" affair, took place between 2005 and 2006 and had a significant impact on the country's law enforcement system. During this period, the city of Nahariya experienced a series of grenade-throwing attacks on the local police station, police homes and the homes of elected officials. These incidents were attributed to the criminal organization of the criminal Michael Moore. In response, several police officers from Nahariya took the law into their own hands and manufactured and detonated explosive devices in Moore's home and car.

Through Shenhav's character, the program delves into the moral dilemmas facing law enforcement officers, the challenges of maintaining public trust and striving for justice in a corrupt environment. The series aims to expose the internal struggles and external pressures that police officers face in their daily lives. "The Policemen" was praised by critics for its realistic portrayal of the Israel Police and its investigation of complex issues.
