A car accident between two buses occurred Monday evening near the Chords Bridge in Jerusalem. MDA medics treated 16 passengers who were rescued from the buses. United Hatzalah reported that all the injured were taken to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah Ein Kerem hospitals conscious, 14 of them sustained minor injuries, two moderately.

Three search and fire crews rescued the driver of one of the buses, who was trapped in the bus. Firefighters rescued the trapped man in mild to moderate condition, and he was taken for medical treatment. In addition, the firefighters assisted in the evacuation of another seven minor casualties who were injured in the accident, and they were transferred to MDA and medical forces at the scene for treatment.

MDA paramedic Eldad Benstein said: "When we arrived at the scene, we noticed two buses on service lines full of passengers that collided lightly with each other, all the passengers got off the buses themselves and walked around. We carried out an initial screening and about 20 of the passengers complained of abrasions and minor bruises, we gave them first aid on the spot and then evacuated them for further examinations and treatment in hospitals, all of whom are in mild condition."

Firefighters during the rescue,

United Hatzalah medics Ari Knefler and Yosef Haim Gabbay said: "This was an accident involving two buses and a private vehicle. With the assistance of a number of United Hatzalah ambulances, we provided first aid at the scene to the driver of the vehicle, the bus drivers and about 20 minor casualties who were on the buses. At this stage, all the injured are defined as light – some of them were treated at the scene and refused to be evacuated to hospitals for examinations."
