A fight between neighbors over loud music almost turned into murder: Kfir Edri, a 43-year-old Tel Aviv resident, was charged Monday morning in the Tel Aviv District Court with causing serious injury under aggravated circumstances to his neighbor after he stabbed him in the heart last Saturday after the neighbor asked him to turn the music down.
According to the indictment, the two live next door to each other in an apartment complex on Yaakov Ben Sira Street in Tel Aviv, and in the afternoon Edri played music in a way that disturbed the neighbor. As a result, an argument developed between the two men, and two hours later, the complainant, who was in the yard of the Badri apartment complex, noticed that he had left his house with his dogs, and following the argument, called on him to bring his dogs into the house and go outside.

Edri brought his dogs into his house and went out into the yard of the compound towards the complainant. At this point, a verbal argument developed between the two and Edri attacked him and a fight broke out between them. At one point, Edri leaned over the complainant and stabbed him with a sharp object in his left chest and left thigh. As a result of the stabbings, the complainant sustained severe injury in the form of a wide hole in the heart and massive bleeding from it. He was evacuated to a shock room at Sheba Hospital in serious and unstable condition, required several units of blood and urgent surgery to repair the hole in his heart, and is still hospitalized.
The complainant described what happened during his interrogation and denied that he had used a knife or any sharp object during the confrontation with Edri. He said he did not see the knife or the sharp object with which he was stabbed. The complainant's wife, who witnessed the incident, stated that Edri pushed her husband who pushed him back. A fight ensued between the two as they mutually attacked each other. At one point, Edri leaned over her husband and she saw a stabbing motion. She later said that her husband said to Edri, "Are you smart with me with a knife?"

According to the arrest report, Edri told the officer upon his arrest, "He attacked me, he bit me, I defended myself so I brought him with what I had in my hand." During his first interrogation, Edri claimed that the complainant pushed him first and that the person who brought the sharp object was the complainant. He further claimed that the stabbing caused to the complainant was the result of him and the complainant rolling on the floor during a struggle between them, and during the roll the complainant was stabbed by the sharp object. In subsequent interrogations, he maintained his right to remain silent. "The accused stabbed the complainant during a fight that developed between him and the complainant following an argument between neighbors. He chose to bring a sharp object to the scene, stabbed the complainant in the chest, caused a wide hole in his heart, and had it not been for the urgent rescue operations of MDA and the doctors at the hospital, he could have caused the death of the complainant."
