Highlights: "I am much more peaceful when I am with my Creator," says the child star. "I want to be with him all the time," he says, "and not just when I need to be" "I'm not afraid to ask God for help," he adds, "because I know he will help me." "I don't want to stop being me," he concludes, "I just want to do my best" "It's a beautiful thing to be you," he writes, "even if it's just a little bit"

The child star shared with his Instagram followers his rapprochement with the Creator, noting the benefits inherent in the mitzvah he decided to fulfill every morning • "I took it upon myself to wash my hands and put on tefillin, I am much more peaceful and happy"

Against the background of a photo of him smiling while wrapped in a tallit while putting on tefillin, the confused child star Yuval shared with his 101,<> Instagram followers the period of spiritual strengthening he has been going through in recent weeks, which he says is accompanied by his decision to fulfill mitzvot that include washing hands and putting on tefillin.

The 51-year-old child star, whose real name is Yuval Shem Tov, shared his relationship with God, and even responded to criticism he knew might come out of his remarks. "For the past two months I have taken it upon myself every morning to wash my hands and put on tefillin, and I want to tell you that it does me so good," he confessed in a post on social media. "Instead of waking up in the morning to a routine of phones, messages, news, social networks and other vegetables, I just take a few magical moments of communion with my Creator. To say thank you, to ask for forgiveness, to pray with love, to make a few requests, to feel my connection to my people, to who I am and to the people on high who love me. Take a breath and then start the day."

Later, Shem Tov spoke about the personal gain he derives from his changed morning routine. "Since I do this every day, something has calmed down in me," he wrote. "I'm much more peaceful and happy. I am grateful for that little thing that exists in my life, and most importantly – I feel a sense of belonging to something good and wonderful. It lifts me up, and gives me strength to continue doing good on earth."

Toward the end of his remarks, the child star implicitly addressed criticism that might be heard in response to the post. "It's true that these things can be done in other ways, but this is my way. This is what I chose, and I'm proud, so I'm happy to share with you, my dear friends," he concluded.
