The hearing will take place next Thursday, September 7, at the Supreme Court of Israel in Jerusalem, Israel.

The Minister of Justice took issue with what he believed was the faulty handling of the issue of representation in the High Court of Justice, the failure to convene the committee for the selection of judges: "Your conduct repeatedly leaves the government and its ministers without legal advice and without legal protection, in a manner that has led to a loss of confidence and severe damage to the government's work."

Justice Minister Yariv Levin sent a letter Wednesday morning to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara attacking her conduct regarding her handling of his representation in the High Court of Justice against the failure to convene the Judicial Selection Committee, which will take place next Thursday, September 7.

"Even with the unacceptable and unprecedented standards of the Attorney General's Office under your leadership, this is another culmination of disrespect and trampling on my basic right as a litigant to receive proper representation in court," he wrote in part. He also claimed that "anyone who reads the response on your behalf will think that this is a petition against me and not an answer on my behalf."

Levin also wrote to Brahav-Miara: "You are distorting my position in the response that you are about to submit to the High Court of Justice the Committee for the Selection of Judges."

Among other things, Levin expressed surprise at the delay in handling the issue by the Attorney General, as well as the Attorney General's response. "Your conduct repeatedly leaves the government and its ministers without legal advice and without legal protection, in a manner that has led to a loss of confidence and severe damage to the government's work. In the situation you created, minimal normal working relations between the government and its ministers and those who are supposed to provide them with ongoing legal advice are prevented."
