Two bus drivers were injured Wednesday when stones were thrown at Israeli buses on Route 55, the Nabi Elias bypass. According to reports from the scene, one driver was lightly injured at the Eliyahu crossing and another driver was injured in Ma'ale Shomron. They were treated at the scene and evacuated to Meir Hospital. The buses were damaged.
MDA said: "At 18:26 P.M., a report was received at the Yarkon Regional Hotline about an injured person in a stone-throwing incident at a bus on Road 55 near the Eliyahu crossing. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated a 48-year-old man to Meir Hospital in light condition with shoulder and hand injuries."

"In addition, at 18:19 P.M., we received a report of an injured person from another stone-throwing incident at a bus on Road 55 near 'Azzun. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment to a 30-year-old man with a facial injury and evacuated him to Meir Hospital."
Following the stone attack near the Eliyahu crossing, the bus drivers' association of the National Federation of Bus Drivers, which unites most of the drivers in Israel, said: "We pray for the health of the bus driver who was hit in the face. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that autobuses have been attacked. The buses are a symbol of government and are attacked again and again. It's time for the Justice Department to stop preventing drivers from being recognized as public servants and not stand by when drivers' blood becomes wanton."
