Following the publication of "Israel Hayom": A group of women who were harmed by sex offender Berland wrote to the wife of the President of Ukraine, Ms. Elena Zelenska, on Friday asking her to prevent Berland from coming to Uman on Rosh Hashanah.

"We are writing on behalf of a group of Jewish women who were abused by one man, the notorious Eliezer Berland," they describe in the letter. "Through his trust and authority, he committed acts of sexual violence in each of us. The rapist and cheater continues to act with merciless meanness.

"We ask you, as a woman, to pay attention to our sorrow and shame. We ask you, as friends of Ukraine, a country that protects the Jewish community and its holiness, to continue to defend in purity and holiness the burial places of righteous Jews, which are important to all our people. Defense not only from barbaric bombings, but also from the enemies of our peoples."

The appeal comes after the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Tradition, Meir Frosh, tried to help Berland cancel his black visa to the country so that he could enter Uman on Rosh Hashanah.

In a conversation we held today with the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevgen Kornichuk, he confirmed that he had received the letter. In addition, he said that Minister Meir Frosh met with him in his state cap as Minister of Jerusalem Affairs about three weeks ago in order to help Berland obtain an entry visa to Uman but was vehemently rejected.

He also confirmed that Minister Meir Frosh tried to influence the Ukrainian court through a letter provided by the lawyers handling the case. The ambassador added that as far as the Ukrainian government was concerned, there was nothing to talk about and that the black visa would not be canceled. Berland will remain persona non grata. Persona non grata in Ukraine.
