Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah met on Saturday with Hamas deputy leader Salah Arouri and Islamic Jihad secretary general Ziad Nahaleh.

The three reviewed the latest developments, particularly in the Palestinian arena, and held a joint assessment of the situation in Judea and Samaria and the escalation of the terrorist organizations in that area.

In addition, according to Hezbollah's announcement, the three had recently assessed the situation regarding the threats made by senior Israeli officials. In this context, daily coordination between the pro-Iranian "axis of resistance" forces in the Palestinian arena and Lebanon was emphasized.

The meeting follows a visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. The latter said yesterday that he had heard from the heads of the Palestinian terror organizations that they were more prepared than ever for a confrontation with Israel, and from Nasrallah that "any foolish act" by Israel would be met with a strong response.

Hezbollah's announcement also stressed that the coordination of the three terrorist organizations was intended to "monitor all political, security and military developments and make the appropriate decision."

"Scene of assassinations"

Earlier this week, Nasrallah threatened in a speech that Hezbollah would not remain silent on any harm to a Palestinian, Syrian, Iranian or other citizen in Lebanon. He stressed that he would not allow his country to be turned into an "assassination zone" again.

The remarks were made against the backdrop of the implied threats made by the Israeli side regarding Hamas deputy leader Salah Arouri, who is in Lebanon. Arouri is the person in charge of terrorist activity in Judea and Samaria from afar, and has himself threatened that an assassination operation will lead to a "regional campaign."

Meanwhile, US adviser Amos Hochstein said on Thursday at the end of his visit to Beirut that "the United States is examining the possibility of starting a discussion on drawing the land border between Israel and Lebanon." Hochstein mediated between the sides on the maritime border issue last year.
