Hoping for a quiet Kippur: The IDF Spokesperson announced today (Friday) that in accordance with the assessment of the security situation and instructions from the political echelon, a general closure will be imposed on the Judea and Samaria area and the crossings in the Gaza Strip will be closed during Yom Kippur.

The closure will begin from Sunday, September 24, 09 at 23:00. The opening of the crossings and the lifting of the closure will take place on Monday, 01.25.09 at 23:23, the eve of Yom Kippur, subject to an assessment of the situation. During the closure, passage will be permitted only in humanitarian, medical and exceptional cases, subject to the approval of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories.
