The death of a six-year-old seems to have been solved. The police have arrested a 14-year-old in Pragsdorf. He allegedly stabbed the victim. A court has already issued an arrest warrant.
After the violent death of a six-year-old boy in Pragsdorf near Neubrandenburg, the police have arrested a 14-year-old suspect. The teenager was the last person to see the victim alive on September 14, and was also entangled in contradictions during questioning, police said on Tuesday.
He was arrested on Tuesday morning in Pragsdorf and is now to be brought before a magistrate on urgent suspicion, a police spokeswoman said. An arrest warrant on suspicion of manslaughter was issued in the morning at the Neubrandenburg District Court.
In addition, the examination of the knife found near the crime scene showed that it was the instrument of the crime. According to the police, blood adhesions and fiber traces of the victim as well as DNA traces could be found on the blade and the handle of the knife, which can be assigned "with a very high degree of probability to the 14-year-old". The motive is still unclear.
The six-year-old victim had not come home from playing in Pragsdorf at the agreed time on September 14. His parents reported him missing. In the evening, the child was found with severe stab wounds in the hedge at the football field. Attempts to revive it were unsuccessful.
The suspect was noticed by the police shortly after the violent act. A search in the family's apartment because of the murder weapon had not substantiated the suspicion at the time. Dpa
