The Tishrei holiday season is still behind us, when the peak tourist season will also pass soon, but just before that happens, Rome, one of the most visited cities in the world, decided to raise taxes, which will have to be paid by tourists who come to the capital of Italy.
Rome is considered a very touristy city, and to be precise – it is one of the most visited cities in the world. Starting yesterday (Sunday), anyone vacationing in the various hotels around the city will have to pay extra for the various hotels.

In the new price table, those who vacation in two-star hotels will pay up to 5 euros more per night per person, those who vacation in a 3-star hotel will pay up to 6 euros more per night per person, in the four-star level the price rises to 7.5 euros more per night per person, and note how much vacationers will pay in five-star hotels – up to 10 euros more per night per person.
A couple arriving in Rome for five nights for a five-star hotel will have to add about €100 for the same taxes. Of course, taxes will be added to the regular hotel prices. Payment is due for children aged 12 and over.

It is important to emphasize that these are not new taxes, since until now taxes were collected from tourists sleeping in hotels as in many other cities around the world, but since yesterday tax prices have jumped by tens of percent, and in certain situations they have also reached a doubling of the previous rate.
Taxes will be charged for up to 10 nights, and many tourists who arrived in Rome in the last 180 hours are already complaining about this. The city of Rome is expected to bring in about €<> million in the coming year from the same tourist taxes that have become more expensive.
