Against the backdrop of closer relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, in the triangle at the top of which stands the United States, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a veiled message to Saudi Arabia: "Normalizing relations with the Zionist entity is a gamble on the losing horse."
The Supreme Leader of Iran made the remarks during his meeting with guests of the Islamic Unity Conference. According to him, "The Zionist occupation is saturated with hatred for Iran, Egypt, Iraq and Syria because it aspired [to spread], from the Nile to the Euphrates and did not succeed in doing so."
He also claimed that "the situation of the Zionist entity today does not encourage rapprochement with it, and Arab countries must not make this mistake." He added that "young Palestinians today have risen up against the occupation and oppression and are more than prepared."
Frustration with normalization
Meanwhile, Israel has recently sensed an increase in Iranian motivation to direct attempted attacks inside Israel, mainly in Judea and Samaria. Security discussions held in recent weeks indicate that Iran's motivation is expressed by bringing high-quality weapons into Israel (weapons and IEDs) and attempts to direct terrorist attacks.
A security source told Israel Hayom that Israel is "seeing an increase in attempted attacks from Iran," mainly in Judea and Samaria, but also in Gaza. Israel says it is Iranian activity stemming from "frustration" with the attacks attributed to Israel in Syria and from an attempt to undermine Israel's normalization efforts in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia.
