Actor Yedidya Vital, one of the stars of "The Octet", came to "The Digger" for an exposed and intimate interview with Shir Ziv. "I was a shy, very gentle little boy, I wasn't a kid who bursts onto the stage," recalls Yedidya Vital (39), an actor from Tel Aviv, married to Erez and a co-parenting father to Ora (7).

In an interview with Shir Ziv on the podcast "The Digger", Vital talks about his big break at the age of 21, playing Nini in "The Octet" created and directed by Giora Hamizer. "My desire to be an actor was bigger than being a child star," he admits, and talks about growing up alongside the cast members, including Don Lenny Gabay, Adi Himelbluy, Michal Aloni, Avi Kornik and others. "We're always together somehow, a bit like a family," Vital said, revealing the name of the group's secret WhatsApp group.

"In retrospect, I realize how immature I was"

Vital's fame did not prevent him from studying acting at the Nissan Nativ School, to which he was accepted when he was already a popular youth star. "In retrospect, I realize how immature I was," he describes in an interview, and also talks about the price of fame. There were no actors out of the closet at the time, and certainly no teen stars, I was tired of concealment, it's exhausting," says Vital, who chose to continue working in television and theater over the years, despite the difficulties. "It's a cruel and tortured profession, there are no rules about it and never have been," he says, referring to the rise of TikTok stars and his casting in series. I think TikTok is a space that has everything, both a lot of garbage and funny, interesting and varied content."

Vital currently plays in the play "Babchik" at the Beit Lesin Theater and in the new season of "Shakshuka" at Kan Educational, in addition to being an acting teacher and owner of the podcast "The Fan" on Tel Aviv Radio. In the interview, he talks about what tempting financial offers he refused, talks candidly about his fatherhood and the desire for more children, and also reveals what he thinks is the secret to a happy relationship. All in the new chapter of The Digger.
