MK Moshe Gafni spoke out again Wednesday evening against Jews ascending to the Temple Mount and even called to close the entrance to the Temple Mount to Jews. In a tweet, Gafni wrote: "Going up to the Temple Mount entails a strict prohibition on charging Crete, it hurts my heart that 3,000 Jews violated this severe prohibition and ascended to the Temple Mount. There is no part of us with them! And we demand that the Temple Mount be closed to Jews."

This comes against the backdrop of data from the Temple Mount Administration showing that over 3,000 Jews ascended the Mount during Chol Hamoed Sukkot. In addition, in recent days, Gafni has seen his coalition colleagues work hard for Jews to ascend to the Temple Mount, which has once again aroused his opposition to aliyah. Among other things, MK Simcha Rotman, along with other Knesset members, sent a letter following the incident in which police officers were documented acting violently towards a group of young people who ascended the Temple Mount.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the Knesset has criticized his right-wing colleagues for their support of ascending to the Temple Mount. Gafni has criticized Public Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir many times and even said in an interview with the Israel Hayom conference that "Ben-Gvir is going up to the Temple Mount because he is comfortable with the campaign."
