For many hours, terrorists barricaded themselves in the Sderot police station and engaged in gun battles with the forces. A tank and armored vehicles were brought, and the commander of the southern district ordered an end to the incident at any cost - even if it meant destroying the station. "We are destroying the station piece by piece because it is booby-trapped and the forces cannot enter," the forces said.

Moshe Rafael, a resident of Sderot, comes to the photographers' teams to ask for a cigarette: "I haven't smoked since the holiday began. Everything is closed and I can't find cigarettes. We've had such a hard day that the only thing I can think about is lighting a cigarette and smoking. We hid in the house, pressed to the floor, and prayed for the family. No one was hurt, thank God, but what this city went through is simply a disaster."
