Dozens of civilians, women, men, adults and children were wounded yesterday by terrorist fire and rocket launches in the south. Lior Sudemi from Ashkelon was moderately wounded yesterday (Saturday) by shrapnel in his leg and is hospitalized in Barzilai.

Lior says: "There were a lot of sirens. I counted 25 in a row. There was my mother's nanny with us, and my mother stayed home in bed. I went out into the living room for a second. The caregiver wanted to bring a towel for my mother. I told her not to dare go outside. The way I told her that. I heard a terrible boom."

"A piece of shrapnel came out of my leg and left. and explosions in the ears and horrific headaches. I crawled to call for help because they said to lock the doors. We live on the first floor. This is a garden apartment. What remains is completely destroyed. It happened in the morning on Saturday. Since then everything has been vague to me. I must have a long rehabilitation waiting for me. We hope for the best."

Herzl Shaubi, a member of the Sderot city council and chairman of the Degel HaTorah faction, was seriously wounded yesterday by a bullet to the chest at the entrance to the synagogue in Sderot. Shaubi has served 35 years in public positions, including deputy mayor.

"A kind of holocaust"

He describes from his bed: "Yesterday I heard the color red when I went to synagogue. I started arranging Simchat Torah Day. Suddenly, I heard shots outside. It was strange for me to hear these sounds. I was standing at the entrance to a synagogue and was hit by a bullet. I immediately realized it was a sniper who had hit me. They stood on rooftops and sniped at anyone who passed on the street. It was a real massacre."

"I sat on the floor bleeding for an entire hour and no ambulance came. When we realized the magnitude of the disaster, I understood what the problem was. Luckily, I had a car in a synagogue because I brought bags for Simchat Torah. A friend took me to the Mada station and brought me to Ashkelon."

Herzl Shaubi, a member of the Sderot city council who was seriously wounded yesterday by a bullet to the chest at the entrance to the city's synagogue,

"You feel that there is no one to save. As a council member, 30 years ago we practiced situations like this, but not with such intensity. It's shocking what's happening in Sderot. The police station is next to the synagogue. Also the center of resilience in the same area. There will be a big shock in Sderot. It's a kind of Holocaust – a situation in which people walk down the street and are slaughtered in their homes. It's shocking but it's reality."

Herzl Shaobi is not letting the injury, a multi-systemic injury to the chest, stop him and is already thinking about returning to public activity.

"I'm trying to think about how I'm going to get back. The feeling that there is nowhere to run. They shot to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Samaria. There's nowhere to run."
