Award-winning Jewish-American actor and comedian Josh Gad, best known as Olaf's voice in Frozen, claims to have received death threats after expressing his support for Israel in the shadow of an iron sword war.

In a series of posts on his Instagram page, Gad, 42, wrote the following poignant words: "There's something I have to say because I'm really curious about where we are, as a society. Yesterday, the world and I witnessed a terrorist organization that murdered 600 innocent people and captured children and families. I posted a message of shock and grief. I, who have always criticized the Israeli government, the occupation and attacks on innocent Gazans, have been personally attacked, shamed, lost followers and even threatened.

Gad in Beauty and the Beast,

"Instead of compassion and humanity, people treat [the situation] as if it's a football game where two teams score points for accumulating bodies. Have we lost our f***ing sanity? Now, somewhere in some basement, there are handcuffed children who have never hurt any Palestinian. Somewhere on the streets of Gaza there are innocent people who are being bombed, because terrorist organizations have decided to destroy any chance for peace. And the response [of the surfers] is to sham people like me, who express sorrow and heartbreak - the same sorrow I express every time an innocent Palestinian is killed.

Josh Gad in Beauty and the Beast,

"Is this the situation we've gotten into? I'm guessing so. One of the most criminal messages I received yesterday and will share with you is 'my only regret that they did not murder more Israelis.' Not soldiers... Civilians. People, this is not a war. It's a massacre. It's a bloodbath. Instead of being discouraged, so many treat it as if it's politics or a rugby game," he concluded.

In addition to his role as the snowman Olaf, Gad, the son of two Jewish parents, appeared in the films "Jobs," "I Wish I Were Here," "Bridesmaid for Hire," "Soul of a Dog," "Murder on the Orient Express," "Artemis Fowl" and the live-action version of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."
