Three days after the fierce fighting in Kibbutz Kfar Azza, Israeli journalists entered the kibbutz for the first time on Tuesday evening, from which dozens of bodies of civilians were evacuated by ZAKA just today. This is one of the hardest hit kibbutzim, where Givati, Magellan and Duvdevan fighters fought for many hours against dozens of terrorists.

"On Saturday I woke up and heard strange explosions," says the commander of the Givati Brigade, Colonel Liron Battito, who commanded the fierce battle. "I made a few phone calls and realized that there was a very unusual incident here. I got dressed and left."
A very unusual event
At first, Tito commanded the city of Sderot, but a short time later the commander of the northern brigade of the Gaza Division asked him to go to Kibbutz Kfar Azza, where many terrorists and Israeli murderers are barricaded.
"In the meantime, my battalions began to gather. You have to understand, the Rotem Battalion was in training in the Golan Heights, another battalion was in operational employment. They came here by bus, by car, whatever."

Two kilometers before entering the kibbutz, the fighters got out of their vehicles and began moving on foot toward their target. "I see more than ten vehicles at the entrance and understand that they are not ours, Gaza vehicles. I estimate that there were seventy terrorists here."
"The fighters strove for contact while absorbing heavy fire," Tito points to a compound next to him and explains that here was a well-fortified ambush by the terrorists. "It was a piece of ambush, there were terrorists on the rooftops. We flanked them and managed to kill them."
For many hours, the fighters waged a battle against the terrorists. "We went house to house under fire, we get text messages from residents that there are terrorists inside their homes. There are fighters here who carried out real heroic actions, rescued civilians, some of whom grabbed the door of the safe room so that the terrorists would not murder them."

Tito says the incident was difficult, but at the same time, he has satisfaction in being able to rescue hundreds of civilians from the communities where he fought with his fighters.
"What happened here happened in a parallel manner in all the communities that were attacked. In Nahal Oz the Givati Patrol operated, here I was with two battalions, and Magellan and Duvdevan were also here and fought very hard at first. Slowly, they entered the settlement and cleaned it. The fighters faced a very difficult situation. The terrorists came here before us, positioned themselves, but we managed to repel a signal. It was a very difficult day, but I feel that we did something to rescue the civilians."
