Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday (October 9th) called for the formation of a "national unity government", on the third day of a major offensive launched by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which has killed at least 800 people in Israel. "I call on the opposition leaders to immediately form an emergency national unity government without preconditions," Netanyahu said in a televised address.
