On the political program "A Place to Meet," presenter Ivan Troshin presented the affair as "part of the psychological warfare in the Middle East." Millions of viewers in Russia were told that the report on the shocking murder of children in the village was based solely on one source: a report by i24 reporter Nicole Tzedek, which was posted on Twitter and indeed became highly viewed. He then presents a headline from Turkey's Anadolu news agency stating that "the IDF had no information that Hamas had cut off the heads of babies," adding: "Later the Israeli article retracted and said that the army misled it."
The item is accompanied by the headline "Israeli Bucha" - an allusion to the massacre in Bucha near Kiev, which, according to official Moscow, was fake and in fact staged by the Ukrainians.
In practice, of course, not only Nicole Zedek reported on the monstrous crimes in the village of Gaza, but also a host of reporters from around the world, such as Reuters, the Times of London and CNN. The Financial Times reported on information from the IDF.
This report comes as a direct continuation of the line Russia has chosen to take regarding the shocking terrorist attack on Israel: a lack of condemnation of Hamas or solidarity with Israel, and instead a preoccupation with the US blame for the lack of a solution to the Palestinian problem.
