In just five days, this shock of unspeakable violence has already provoked a series of dramatic consequences in the Middle East: massacres, hostages, war, thousands of civilian victims, anti-Semitic threats, fractured public opinion. And raises the spectre of painful aftershocks in the region as well as on the national territory.
