1 / 14In 1947, the United Nations General Assembly decides on the division of Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab. In May 1948, the Jewish state was founded. The Arab states of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq crossed the borders with their armies just one day later.
