The two brothers, Yishai and Noam Slotky z"l, who acted with extraordinary courage and fell in battle on the envelope on Saturday, were laid to rest on Mount Herzl last night.

The Saltaki brothers, both citizens of Be'er Sheva, decided on Saturday morning to take action. They put on uniforms, took their personal weapons and rushed to the communities near the Gaza Strip to fight the terrorists. The two heroic brothers were killed in battle near Kibbutz Alumim. They were recognized as fallen IDF soldiers and buried side by side on Mount Herzl.

Rabbi Noam Slotky, Noam and Yishai's father, eulogized them: "Beloved sons, Noam and Yishai, it is with great sorrow that we brought you to be buried, but with our heads held high and great pride for the way you chose to act last Shabbat, which expressed your personality and character. You were privileged to be at the key point for change, instead of rivalry and hatred, we began to move on to the path of mutual responsibility. A revolution to bring Israel to its rightful place. You are privileged to be remembered as the turning point."

Yishai's battalion commander eulogized them: "On this day, the State of Israel lost two of its best sons. The beloved and pleasant in their life and death did not part. Noam, always first to volunteer. Yishai, a fierce warrior, is always first to any mission. Your willingness to volunteer even without being called. Dear Slotky family, be proud of Noam and Yishai." Moshe Leon, Mayor of Jerusalem: "Noam Vichy, the disaster is unimaginable. What heroism, what courage, what mutual responsibility. You did not wait for the order, you went into battle determined to save lives. The city of Jerusalem embraces you."
