Following this, McDonald's Israel updated on its Facebook page today (Friday) that an "attack" by hostile elements is being carried out on the page - many anti-Israeli comments posted on it. The company also blocked commenting on its Facebook page.

A post published a few hours ago by the fast food chain read: "Dear followers, due to a huge hostile and anti-Israeli attack on the McDonald's Israel page, we have been forced to temporarily block it for comments. All posts can be strengthened by likes."

A post published by the company earlier stated: Dear followers, we are flooded with anti-Israeli comments from hostile elements on the page and are trying to take control of the situation." The post received over a thousand comments and over 1,500 likes. "We love you. Keep being proud and do good on your heart. Thank you for the many contributions," wrote one commenter.

McDonald's Israel chose not to comment for this story.
