Highlights: Many Sabbath observants are uncertain about how to get through the coming Shabbat in the shadow of an iron sword war. As part of the rules for times of war, it is possible to listen to the radio on frequencies that trigger a silent wave and warning if necessary. License holders must continue to carry weapons. It is mandatory to leave a phone available at home. When is it permitted to go to synagogues, and what to do if there is an alarm in the middle? • All the laws of Sh Saturday for iron swords.

Accepting Shabbat in the shadow of the fighting: Many Sabbath observants are uncertain about how to get through the coming Shabbat in the shadow of an iron sword war and the emergencies it may bring. A week after the outbreak of the war, and after the traumatic Shabbat we experienced last week, many find it difficult to know how they will update themselves during Shabbat and protect themselves.

Sabbath-observant citizens can receive warnings during Shabbat in the following ways:

Radio stations:

The following stations stop broadcasting from the beginning of Shabbat until its departure. In case a danger is identified, an alert will break out during the broadcast:
• Heritage network - frequencies 90.5, 90.8, 92.5 and 100.7.
• Live voice radio - frequencies 92.8, 93 and 102.5.
• Level voice radio - frequencies 92.1, 104.3, 105.7 and 107.6.
• Israel Radio - frequencies 89.3, 94 and 106.5.
• Radio South - frequency 101.5.

Home Front Command app:

Triggers alerts if your location is threatened (location services must be turned on). On the iPhone - make sure that the phone is not in silent mode. In addition, you can set to receive an alert using a 10-second vibration (on Android - the settings page in the app must be set, and on the iPhone, the vibration must be set in the settings of the device itself). Also, on Android devices you can receive the alert accompanied by a flashing of the flashlight.

National Emergency Portal:

You can log in to the National Emergency Portal before the holiday, click on the speaker icon next to the "Alerts" tab on the homepage, set the area of your stay on the "Alerts" page, and keep your computer active during the holiday. If rocket fire occurs in the area you have defined, you will receive a sound and display alert via sound. Link to the National Emergency Portal: https://www.oref.org.il.

The Chief Rabbinate also issued instructions to the Sabbath observants on how to act while observing the Sabbath in the best possible way:

A. All instructions and recommendations of the Home Front Command must be strictly obeyed. And when the instruction is to shut yourself up in the house, do not leave the house at all, not even for prayer. And pray in private.

B. Praying should only be done in synagogues that have – or near – protected spaces, and when an alarm sounds, one should go immediately to protected areas until the danger passes. Therefore, patients who walk slowly will pray at home, unless desalination takes place in a shelter.

c. If an alarm is sounded in the middle of the standing prayer, stop immediately and go silently to the protected area, and then return to pray. And if the delay was not more than five or six minutes, he would continue where he left off, and if five or six minutes had passed, he would start again from the beginning of standing. Also, if there is an alarm in the middle of reading the Torah, they will immediately close the book and place a map on the Torah scroll, and go to a protected area, even though the Sefer is left on the ark alone. And when they return, they will continue to read where they left off.

D. Every synagogue must have an open telephone on the eve of Shabbat, which will be available to alert the emergency forces for any trouble that does not come. You can keep a cell phone on vibration mode in your pocket.

E. Anyone who has a licensed weapon is commanded to carry the weapon with him on Shabbat as well, and it is recommended to try in every synagogue to have at least one armed.

F. On these days, it is necessary to leave the house unnecessarily, and therefore do not delay after desalination when wandering around the streets of cities.

G. The radio must be kept on a silent wave in order to keep up to date with the Home Front Command's alerts.

8) Synagogues that did not read the Torah portion last Shabbat because of the terrorists' infiltration into their communities do not need to complete the portion on this Shabbat. And they read the portion of Genesis. Because you don't read a number for a book on one aliyah. And if you want to be in a safe place, you can read this portion without a blessing. Then Cohen will bless and read the portion of Genesis.

I. It is necessary to say in all prayers after the return of the prayer "Our Father is our King," including on Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh, [omitting the paragraphs "we wrote" and on Shabbat and R.H. omitting our sins before you], and when opening the hall it is necessary to say 12 times, "To the world of the Lord your word stands in heaven" and the chapters of Psalms: 20, 12, 121, 13, 142, as well as the special prayer that we have published at this time.

J. Celebration events such as weddings and circumcisions, etc., should be done in a very limited format, as directed by the Home Front Command.
