Many condolences arrived Sunday morning at the home of the Achiel family in Rosh HaAyin upon learning of the fall of their daughter Kamai on the northern border last Saturday.
Corporal Kamei Achiel (18), an IDF soldier in the Fin unit, was killed during operational activity in the maritime area in northern Israel, as a result of a technical malfunction in IDF weapons. After the malfunction occurred, the soldiers received initial medical treatment at the scene and were evacuated for further medical treatment at the Galilee Hospital in Nahariya, but Kamei did not survive.
Kamei's family lived in Petah Tikva for years and later moved to Rosh HaAyin. She was the eldest daughter and in a week she was supposed to celebrate her 19th birthday.

"I don't know where to start, I've run out of tears and words. My angel Kamei was killed during an operation in defense of the homeland on the Lebanese border. She was a fin cruiser fighter. A heroine, brave and did not give up coming to the elite unit. Can't believe this happened to us." Nir said of his daughter, adding: "Mom and Dad bury their eldest daughter. Take care of us from above, my beautiful soul. There will be a lot more talk about you."

The Rosh HaAyin municipality issued a statement announcing its fall: "Rosh HaAyin pains and mourns with all the people of Israel, the fall of Corporal Kamei Achiel, z"l. 18 years old, from Rosh HaAyin, a fin fighter in Company 914, who was killed in operational activity in the maritime area in northern Israel, near the Lebanese border, and shares in the family's deep sorrow. May her memory be blessed!"
