For the first time since the brutal attack on communities near the Gaza Strip more than a week ago, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet Sunday afternoon with the families of the abductees and missing persons.
The meeting with representatives of the families of the abducted and missing will take place at 16:30 at the Home Front Command base in Ramle.

The meeting comes after harsh criticism directed at Netanyahu by the families of the abductees and missing for not finding time to meet them during their difficult hours. The criticism intensified in light of the fact that the US president spoke with representatives of the families and heard their pain and strengthened them.
Last Saturday, many representatives of the families in Kirya demonstrated against Netanyahu and shouted harsh slogans blaming him and calling on him to resign.
The issue of abductees and missing persons also came up at the start of today's cabinet meeting, when Benjamin Netanyahu asked cabinet members to rise for a minute of silence in memory of "our brothers and sisters who were murdered in cold blood, and our heroic fighters who fell in battle."

The Prime Minister added: "This is the first meeting of the National Emergency Government. Five other ministers joined us – Benny, Gadi, Hili, Gideon and Yifat. We work around the clock, working as a team, on a united front. The unity within us sends a clear message to the people, to the enemy and to the world. I have seen our wonderful fighters who are now on the front line, they know that the entire nation stands behind them. They understand the magnitude of the task. They are ready to act at any moment in order to eradicate the bloody monsters that have risen up against us to destroy us. Hamas thought we would dismantle – we would dismantle Hamas."
