A violent group of protesters "destroyed" a McDonald's in the Lebanese city of Sidon, considered a Hezbollah stronghold, according to reports and documentation posted on social media. This is because the fast-food chain donates meals to IDF soldiers against the backdrop of an iron sword war.

In a post posted a few days ago on X (formerly Twitter) by Palestine Online, a mob was seen marching on the chain's branch in Lebanon and trying to break in, with some protesters holding Palestinian flags. "People didn't really like this PR stunt, for which an international corporation is responsible, and destroyed one of the McDonald's branches," wrote a Twitter user who shared a longer version of the video, alongside photos showing Israeli soldiers and police officers enjoying meals donated by McDonald's. At this moment, the damage sustained by the restaurant is unclear, but it can be assumed to be very significant.

Since the outbreak of the war, McDonald's has faced many calls for a boycott in the Arab world after donating tens of thousands of meals to Israeli security forces, medical personnel and the wounded in hospitals. Last Friday, Israel Hayom reported that McDonald's Israel announced that its Facebook page was under attack by hostile elements, flooding it with anti-Semitic comments.
