Two Molotov cocktails were thrown tonight into an Adas Israel building in central Berlin. There were no casualties. Adas Israel is an old Jewish community, established in 1869, destroyed by the Nazis, and returning to activity in the city only in 1986.
"Shortly after supporters of the Hamas terrorist organization scattered anti-Semitic slogans on the streets of Berlin, a synagogue in the city center was attacked," the Israeli embassy in Berlin said in a statement. "This incident comes just days after we witnessed the marking of Jewish homes with a Star of David in the German capital. We trust German law enforcement agencies to handle the case with the utmost severity and with all the means at their disposal."
The embassy added, "This is also a test hour for any democracy that does not have a gray area: either you stand with the Sons of Light or with the Sons of Darkness. It's time to have a clear voice."
