The hit-and-run accident near Udim that turned into a suspected murder due to an argument on the road: On Sunday, the State Prosecutor's Office will file a serious indictment against the offending driver, Israel Haqaq, 34, from Netanya. He is expected to be charged with the murder of motorcyclist Eyal Yehuda, a 46-year-old father of five from Herzliya, causing the death of Maor Moshe Ben David, 35, from Netanya, and abandoning them, after he stole a truck from a driver who stopped to help, and fled the scene of the accident. The State Prosecutor's Office will also file a request to detain Haqaq until the end of the legal proceedings.

The moments leading up to the fatal accident in Odim

At first, the police suspected it was an accident, but as first reported by Israel Hayom, the suspicion escalated to murder. It is suspected that a few minutes before the accident there was an argument between Haqaq and Yehuda. A video filmed before the accident shows Haqaq preventing Yehuda from overtaking him while diverting his vehicle from side to side while driving recklessly. After Yehuda overtook him, Haqaq accelerated his vehicle and allegedly deliberately hit and killed Yehuda. As a result, a cousin who was near the pedestrian bridge was also killed.

"It's so terrible, it's premeditated murder," says Efrat, Yehuda's sister. "Murder because of an argument on the road. My brother is not a man who fights or curses. Even if even my brother did a triple finger, you don't overtake him, direct your car and get in it to kill him. It's crazy."

Suspected hit-and-run. The offender escaped by truck,

Livnat, Yehuda's wife: "Eyal was the father of five children, he was married a second time. We have two children together and he has three children from a previous marriage. He was a high-tech worker, a very talented man, very smart and very loved. A person who gives and contributes. A man with a heart of gold. It is impossible to count the number of people he helped during his life. Everyone who knew him loved him. He loved motorcycles, computers, painting. He was a family man. His life was his family, computers and motorcycles. He was a good rider and you can see that in the video. He wasn't one to put himself at risk from being a father of five children."

Livnat responded to Haqaq's defense attorney's claim that the motorcyclist seen in the video was not Yehuda, but another rider, and therefore Haqaq had no reason to harm him. "It's him in the video, I recognized him. That's him for sure."

Last week, the police suspected that the fatal hit-and-run accident, which occurred a week and a half ago on the coastal road near Moshav Udim, was not an accident, but a deliberate ramming due to an argument on the road.

It is suspected that Haqaq had argued on the road a few minutes earlier with the driver of the motorcycle, Eyal Yehuda, who was killed in the accident. Haqaq prevented him from overtaking him, moving his vehicle from lane to lane and blocking the road for Yehuda while driving dangerously. Yehuda finally managed to overtake the car and continued driving. It is suspected that when the driver of the vehicle spotted him further down the road, near Moshav Udim, he shifted the steering wheel to the right and hit him deliberately. As a result, Yehuda was killed instantly. Maor Moshe Ben David (35, from Netanya), a pedestrian who was at the scene, was also hit by Haqaq's vehicle and killed.

Footage circulating on social media showed Haqaq running amok on the road a few minutes before the accident, preventing a motorcyclist from overtaking him. Police believe the motorcyclist documented is Yehuda.
