In a puzzling move and without any prior coordination with the security forces, red signs were posted Thursday morning at the entrance to Huwara in Samaria, stating that this is the entrance to Area A, and that "entry to Israelis is forbidden," prior to the opening of the Huwara bypass. A security source: "The signs were erected without coordination or knowledge of the security forces - and they will be removed."

The hostile village, which has experienced quite a few attacks, rushed to celebrate, and Telegram groups wrote that this was the first step "to liberate the occupied village." This is a village that is well known to be problematic, and last week swastikas were spray-painted on its wall for the second time since the beginning of the war.
The signs were erected without any coordination with the bodies responsible for security on the ground. Samaria Brigade Commander Shimon Siso was completely surprised by the move, and the Civil Administration and the IDF did not know where it came from. Civil Administration officials said they knew there was a requirement to put up such signs as part of the opening of the Huwara bypass, but this was not coordinated and in any case problematic to do so before the route was opened.

The security forces said they intended to remove the signs, but Samaria refused to wait. Shortly after they were installed, residents arrived and knocked down the outrageous sign. Security officials later said the signs had been completely removed.
