Actor Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler — the sarcastic and comedic friend from the beloved series Friends — has died at the age of 54, authorities confirmed to NBC News, after the news was first published by the entertainment portal TMZ.
According to law enforcement sources cited by TMZ, Perry died from a suspected drowning and his body was found in a home in Los Angeles, California. Noticias Telemundo has not been able to independently verify these reports.

The actor, who played Chandler for ten seasons and also participated in other film roles, published in 2022 the memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir in which he addressed his well-known addiction problems that tormented him for years, especially while dealing with the fame that came to him from one of the most beloved series on American television.
The LA Times, citing police sources, detailed that emergency crews were called this Saturday, at about 4 p.m. (Western time), to the house where the actor was found unconscious in a jacuzzi. No crime is suspected, while investigations continue.
